Importing demo content is the quickest way to start building with Gutenify. With just a few clicks, you can replicate the exact design and layout from one of our professionally designed starter sites. This guide will walk you through the entire process.
✅ Prerequisites #
Before importing a demo, ensure the following:
- Your WordPress site is newly installed or has minimal existing content (to avoid content duplication).
- Gutenify plugin is installed and activated.
- [Recommended] You are using a Gutenify-compatible theme (e.g., Gutenify Business, Gutenify Medical, etc.).
🚀 Steps to Import a Demo Site #
Navigate to the Demo Importer
- Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
- Click on Gutenify → Demo Importer from the sidebar.
Browse and Select a Demo
- Browse through the available demo websites.
- Click “Demo” / “Preview” to see how the demo looks.
- Once you’ve decided, click the Import button (Download Icon) on your chosen demo.
Start the Import Process
When you click the Import button on a demo, you’ll be given two import options:
🏃♂️ Express Import (Recommended for Beginners)
Automatically starts importing the full demo content without any additional prompts.
All elements will be imported, including:
✅ Pages
✅ Posts
✅ Menus
✅ Other Settings
⚠️ Use this option if you want a complete, ready-to-edit demo site with minimal setup.
⚙️ Customized Import (For Advanced Users)
Allows you to choose which parts of the demo content you want to import.
You can select or deselect items like:
- Pages
- Posts
- Menus
- Other Settings
✔️ Use this option if you’re working on an existing site and only want to import specific components.
Click ‘Yes, Let’s import’ to begin.
⚠️ Note: This process may take 2–5 minutes depending on your server speed and internet connection.
Wait for Confirmation
- Once the import is complete, you’ll see a success message.
- Click View Site to see your newly imported demo live on your website.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Tips #
Issue: Demo import fails or freezes
Solution:
- Make sure your hosting allows file_get_contents() and external requests.
- Increase PHP max execution time to 300 or more.
- Deactivate other plugins to check for conflicts.
Issue: Images not loading properly
Solution:
- Go to Tools → Site Health and resolve any critical issues.
- Clear browser and server cache.
